Angang Iron and Steel Project won a special fund for national major industrial technology development
In a recent development, the General Office of the National Development and Reform Commission issued a "Registration Letter on Major Projects for Major Industrial Technology Development in 2008," officially approving the inclusion of Angang's "Key Sintering Residue Heat Recovery Technology" into the National High-tech Industry Development Project Plan. As part of this recognition, the company is set to receive a state-funded grant of 5 million yuan.
These national-level industrial technology development projects are designed in accordance with key policies such as the "National High-tech Industry Development Plan" and the "Currently Developed High-tech Industrialization Key Area Guidelines." They focus on addressing common industry challenges and advancing critical technological research that can drive long-term industrial growth. For enterprises that meet the eligibility criteria, the government provides financial support through subsidies, which serves as an essential policy mechanism to promote innovation and technological progress in key sectors.
Since 2006, Angang has actively leveraged opportunities under China's "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" to enhance energy efficiency and reduce emissions. Through a strategic three-step development plan and continuous structural adjustments, the company has prioritized energy-saving and emission-reduction initiatives for three consecutive years. The cumulative funding received from these efforts reached 98.89 million yuan, significantly supporting the ongoing efforts to improve environmental performance and contribute to the vision of "excellent steel and bright steel" at Anyang Iron and Steel. This achievement highlights the company’s commitment to sustainable development and technological advancement.
