The vortex flowmeter is a flowmeter sensitive to the distortion of the flow velocity of the pipeline, the swirling flow and the flow of the artery. Therefore, the installation conditions of the on-site pipeline should be fully emphasized, and the instructions for use should be strictly followed.
Vortex flowmeters can be installed indoors or outdoors. If installed in a well, in order to prevent flooding, a hydrophobic sensor should be used. The sensor can be installed horizontally, vertically or obliquely on the pipe, but when measuring liquids and gases, in order to prevent the interference of air bubbles and droplets, the installation position should be noted.
The vortex flowmeter must ensure that the upper and downstream straight sections have the necessary length.
Pay attention to the following issues when connecting to pipes.
The inner diameter D of the upper and lower pipes is the same as the inner diameter D' of the sensor, and the difference satisfies the following condition: 0.95D ≤ D' ≤ 1.1D.
2 The piping should be concentric with the sensor, and the coaxiality is less than 0.05D'.
3 The gasket can not be protruded inside the pipe, and its inner diameter can be 1~2mm larger than the inner diameter of the sensor.
4 If it is necessary to cut off the flow or clean the sensor, a bypass pipe should be provided.
5 The impact of reducing vibration on the vortex flowmeter during field installation is worthy of attention. The source of vibration should be avoided as much as possible, and the flexible hoses should be connected in small diameters and pipe supports should be added.
Installation tips for vortex flowmeters:
1. The vortex flowmeter can only be measured in one direction. When installing, please ensure that the direction of the media flow is consistent with the direction indicated by the flowmeter arrow.
2. The installation method of the vortex flowmeter is vertical installation, and the medium passes through the flowmeter from bottom to top. Install the flowmeter on a vertical pipe with the flow direction from bottom to top.
3. When installing horizontally, the flowmeter must be installed in the high pressure zone of the whole system and ensure the corresponding outlet pressure; do not install at the high point of the pipeline, because the high point is often gas accumulation, the pipeline is not full, and the outlet cannot be directly emptied.
4. When measuring high temperature fluid, try to use vertical installation; if you have to install horizontally, please install the transmitter part of the flowmeter vertically downwards or horizontally to avoid excessive temperature; pay attention to the air flow at the installation location. Or well ventilated.
5. Straight pipe section requirements: at least 15 times the pipe diameter before the flow meter and 5 times the pipe diameter after the flow meter. If there are elbows, indents, expansions and other sources of interference in front of the flowmeter, the diameter of the flowmeter should be 30–40 times, and the diameter of the flowmeter should be 6 times. The flow meter should be installed upstream of the regulator valve, pressure or temperature sensor.
6. When installing, note that the pipe diameter should be slightly larger than or equal to the inner diameter of the meter.
7. When using the sealing ring, note that the inner diameter of the sealing ring should be slightly larger than or equal to the inner diameter of the meter, and the center of the sealing ring is at the center of the pipe.
Cable inlet seal
When the meter is electrically connected, care must be taken to ensure that the inlet hole is sealed. The corresponding sealing interface (M20Χ1.5; 1/2"NPT; G1/2") must be selected according to the meter cable entry model and installed correctly and tightly. There is no sealing joint, or the installation is sloppy, and the sealing effect is not achieved, which is one of the most common causes of damage to the instrument.
