The Antioch Fire Department and First Fire District is a volunteer fire department located at the northern edge of Illinois, within Lake County's Quad 2. The department operates from three stations and maintains a fleet of firefighting apparatus. They are set to receive a new engine in January, which will mark a shift from their previous all-Pirsch configuration. Although they still have two Pirsch units on their roster, one of them will be auctioned off once the new engine arrives. Each station is equipped with a brush unit, an engine, or a tanker with a minimum water capacity of 2,000 gallons. Today, the department's fleet includes a US Tanker, an Alexis unit, a Pierce pumper, and a 3D rescue vehicle. Station 1 houses the Quad 2 rehab unit, the Quad 2 air boat, and a newly introduced resource known as the Fast Attack Response Truck, designed for rapid deployment in emergencies. A number of historic Pirsch units remain in service, reflecting the department’s long-standing tradition. These vehicles are not only functional but also serve as a link to the past, preserving the legacy of the department’s early years.
