On December 7, 2007, Sinotruk and Russia’s Gail Motors AG formally signed an agreement in Moscow to form HOWO-ZLL, which will sell and assemble HOWO heavy trucks of CNHTC in Russia, each with 50% shares. This is the first heavy truck joint venture between a Chinese truck company and Russia.

According to the agreement, HOWO-ZLL Company first used the sales network of Gill to sell CNHTC's HOWO series products at the initial stage. In mid-2008, CKD co-production began. Volume production reached 2.5 units in 2012. Recently, Sinotruk has signed the first batch of 800 orders with Jier in January 2008 and signed a sales agreement of 7,600 vehicles in 2008.

Gil is the oldest and largest automobile manufacturer in Russia and has a history of 92 years. At present, the company’s truck products are mainly light trucks and medium trucks, and its current output is about 30,000. There are 42 distribution agencies and 650 distribution agents.

It is understood that with the gradual recovery of the Russian economy, the demand for local heavy trucks has rapidly increased and the current demand is around 100,000 vehicles. The domestic heavy truck production capacity is between 45,000 and 50,000 vehicles, and the rest are foreign brands heavy trucks and used cars.

Earlier this year, China National Heavy Duty Truck officially opened up the Russian market. China National Heavy Duty Truck's HOWO heavy trucks quickly opened up the market with its good price/performance ratio. In April, 50 models received Russian product certification. In order to do a good job in product after-sales service, China National Heavy Duty Truck has set up more than 30 service stations in Russia.

According to statistics from China Customs, only one series of HOWO has been sold to Russia and China Heavy Duty Trucks this year. According to Russian official statistics, from January to May of this year, HOWO ranked among the third among foreign brand heavy trucks sold locally after Volvo and Scania. Analysis of the Russian market, according to the current HOWO sales momentum, this year, the first few to a certainty.

At present, Russia has completely shut down the used car market, and will fully implement Euro III standards for heavy trucks in 2008, which has created a good environment for increasing Sinotruk’s share in the Russian market.

It is reported that on November 18, 2007, Sinotruk signed a 2500 vehicle sales agreement with Vietnam TMT. At this point, in 2008 China National Heavy Duty Truck has received 10,000 orders for the international market.
