Composite Autoclave Basic Introduction

Composite Autoclaves are essential tools in the manufacturing of advanced composite materials. These machines are widely used for bonding metal and non-metal structures, as well as for curing high-strength resins combined with glass fiber, carbon fiber, boron fiber, aramid fiber, and epoxy resin. When a vacuum is applied to the composite material, the autoclave enables curing through heating and pressing. The autoclave molding process involves placing the composite material blank, honeycomb sandwich structure, or adhesive sealing structure into a mold with a vacuum bag, then subjecting it to heat, pressure, and cooling under vacuum conditions. This process ensures the production of high-quality, structurally complex, and large-area composite products.
The curing of composite matrix resins depends not only on the molecular structure of the resin but also on other components such as curing agents and crosslinking promoters. External factors like temperature, pressure, and time play a critical role in the curing process. These three elements are commonly referred to as the main process parameters. All autoclave molding methods are determined based on the changes in the molecular structure of the matrix resin, and the autoclave must be equipped with the ability to control these parameters effectively.

Safe & Reliable

1. The autoclave is equipped with a safety valve that maintains a sealed state under normal working pressure. If the pressure exceeds the safety limit, the valve automatically opens to release gas and reduce pressure to the set value, then closes again to maintain safe operation.
2. The autoclave's pressure is automatically controlled. When the tank reaches the set pressure, the reset valve automatically closes; if the pressure exceeds the limit, the exhaust valve automatically opens to relieve pressure.

3. Overpressure and high-temperature sound/light alarms are installed for early warning.


4. Safety devices check the pressure between the door and the tank, preventing damage to personnel.

5. An appliance chain prevents accidental operations.


6. Safety functions include door closure interlocking, residual pressure alarm, door opening/closing interlocking, and safe connection device interlocking.

7. Interlocks between switches and the tank door, screw and pressurization, fan operation and cooling water/temperature switch, pressure control and gasket interlock, and heating and fan interlock ensure protection against incorrect operations.
