Recently, Danelec-Marines announced the launch of a new generation of DM100-VDR (product library supply) navigation data recorder. The voyage data logger is the first voyage data recorder on the market to pass the new IMO standard type certification and Wheelmarked certification. The DM100-VDR Voyage Data Recorder has been certified by the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Authority (BSH).
The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Administration (BSH) Type Approval Certificate demonstrates that the Danelec DM100 VDR Voyage Data Recorder meets all modified International Maritime Organization (IMO) performance standards and technical requirements, according to the International Maritime Organization MSC.333(90) resolution and IEC 61996-1 Ed.2 is defined to meet the requirements of the EU Wheelmark.
The new IMO standard maritime affairs took effect on July 1, 2014, which was adopted in May 2012. Thereafter, all voyage data recorders installed on new ships and modified ships must meet the new IMO standards.
The Danelec DM100 VDR Voyage Data Logger uses the company's innovative advanced software technology to store all program files and configuration files on hot-swappable memory cards. If the voyage data logger fails, the service technician can remove the memory card from the failed voyage data recorder and insert a replacement card. This will bring the faulty memory card to shore and send it to Danelec for repairs, thus helping the ship continue to sail as planned.
