Long-Term Development Strategy Seminar for Transportation

On August 9th, the China Medium and Long-Term Development Strategy Seminar for Transport was held in Beijing with the theme of “Innovation, Transformation, Coordination, and Efficiency”. Participants conducted exchanges and discussions on the current state of development of China's transportation industry and the situation facing them, as well as the medium and long-term development directions and ideas.

Guan Changyu, vice president of the Planning and Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, proposed that the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” integrated transport should pay more attention to the development of inter-city and intra-city transportation, passenger transport should pay more attention to efficiency and comfort, and freight should pay more attention to economy and speed. Convenience, pay more attention to the construction of passenger and cargo transportation hubs, pay more attention to software construction, pay attention to the use of information technology to improve the quality of transportation services, and transport resources are more inclined to green transportation methods such as public transportation, rail transportation, and water transportation. Lu Jianheng, Director of Planning Division of the Development Planning Department of the Civil Aviation Administration, proposed that the main tasks for the development of civil aviation during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period should include ensuring continuous aviation safety, deepening reforms to release the development potential of civil aviation, airport construction and development, and building modern air traffic control systems. Improve air transport service capabilities and quality, develop general aviation, and accelerate the transformation of civil aviation development.

The symposium was hosted by the China Association of Transportation and Transportation and organized by the Beijing China Association for Logistics Research. More than 100 leaders from the Ministry of Transport and Development, the National Development and Reform Commission, the China Railway Corporation, the Civil Aviation Administration, and the Development Research Center of the State Council, local authorities, relevant research institutions, universities, and representatives of domestic and foreign companies attended the conference.
