Principle of Operation
Film Testing:
The sample is clamped between two chambers. The upper chamber is purged with an oxygen stream, while the lower chamber is flushed with nitrogen. Oxygen molecules diffuse through the sample into the nitrogen side, where they are detected by the coulometric sensor, allowing the calculation of oxygen transmission rate and permeability coefficient.
Package Testing:
The package is placed in the lower chamber. The outside is exposed to air or pure oxygen, and the inside is purged with nitrogen. Oxygen diffuses through the package wall into the nitrogen side, and the sensor measures the oxygen concentration to determine the oxygen transmission rate.
