After 20 years of heavy-duty engine product development, Weichai has provided a steady stream of support for the development of domestic heavy trucks, ships, and large construction machinery.

On the road to building an internationalized Weichai, it also plans for high-end light-duty power products. Since 2009, the most mature lightweight power technology has been introduced. Nowadays, high-end products of multiple platforms have been planned and developed, which completely covers the markets of high-end light trucks, light passengers, MPVs, SUVs, and pickup trucks. The launch of Weichai's lightweight power products is not only meeting the development needs of the light-end high-end power market, but also being part of building an internationalized firewood. Prior to the official release of Weichai light machine, in August 2014, Jianghuai Shuai Ling light trucks (WP3 Shuaihua Lightweight Wide and Narrow Body models) Equipped with the Weichai WP3 engine, the road test was successfully completed on a high-speed road of 200 kilometers from Moxi, Yunnan, to Puxi, Yunnan. Weichai's lightweight power WP3 introduced advanced technologies from Europe and used it for digestion and absorption for six years. In June 2011, the first Weichai light engine series product, the WP3 diesel engine, was successfully ignited.
