Hey everyone, This message comes from Martin Nowak and he wanted to share some photos with us. He really appreciates Squad546 for letting him post these images so that we can all take a look at the firefighting units that have served—or are still serving—the Chicago Fire Department. I’ve got a bunch of cool pictures here. The first one is of Deluge Wagon 676, which is a 1975 Chevrolet/Eastman model that had its chassis replaced back in 2013. It's a great example of how the department keeps their older equipment updated while maintaining its historical value. Then there’s an old light wagon that used to be stationed at Engine 13. It’s been out of service for quite some time now, but it still holds a special place in many firefighters' hearts. There’s also another retired light wagon, number 916, which has seen better days but remains a nostalgic piece of firefighting history. Moving on, we have a picture of former unit 637, a 1980 GMC/E-One vehicle. This rig has definitely seen its fair share of action over the years. Next up is X-Squad 1, a 1996 HME/Saulsbury model that’s currently being used as part of the “Chicago Fire” TV show. It’s amazing to see these vehicles getting a second life on screen! There’s also a shot of a former Squad 5A spare rig, a 1979 Ford/Seagrave/Pierce model. And lastly, you’ll notice a classic 1971 Mack MB Snorkel Squad 1, with Cabrini in the background—a real throwback to a bygone era. On a side note, if anyone’s interested in firefighting gear or supplies, the City of Chicago has some old fire hoses up for auction. You can check them out at this link: [http://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/chicago,il/list/current?orgid=20549](http://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/chicago,il/list/current?orgid=20549). Who knows? Maybe someone out there could put those hoses to good use. Anyway, thanks again to Squad546 for sharing these awesome photos. They really help keep the memory of these firefighting legends alive. Let me know what you guys think about these old rigs—there’s something special about seeing how far we’ve come in terms of technology and design over the decades. Take care, and stay safe out there! Martin
