On Friday, May 12th, 2017, Wheeling firefighters responded to a call at 1460 Anthony Road regarding a fire in a detached garage. When they arrived, they discovered that the entire two-car garage was fully engulfed in flames. The emergency response level was quickly escalated to Code 4, which brought additional support from neighboring departments in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, and Long Grove. The intense fire completely destroyed the garage along with one of the cars parked inside. Radiant heat from the blaze also caused slight damage to the exterior of the nearby house. Firefighters worked diligently to contain the situation, preventing further spread of the flames. Attached are several images taken by Larry Shapiro, capturing the intense firefighting efforts and the aftermath of the incident. These photos provide a glimpse into the scale of the damage and the coordinated efforts of the firefighters on the scene. For more photographs, please visit Shapirophotography.net. These pictures truly capture the dedication and hard work of our local fire departments, who were instrumental in managing this challenging situation. Their swift action undoubtedly prevented greater damage to surrounding structures.

PVD Coated Screw

PVD (Physical vapor deposition) is characterized by a process in which the material goes from a condensed phase to a vapor phase and then back to a thin film condensed phase. We are using this technology on our Titanium nitride coated screws.

HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) coating process is a kind of thermal spraying technique that melted (or heated) materials are sprayed into the surface. By HVOF technology, alloy powder spraying is under high pressure and high velocity. The adhesive force is over 10000PSI, and the powder density can be achieved up to 99.8%, which offers outstanding performance in wear & corrosion resistance.

Chrome plating (less commonly chromium plating) is a technique of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal object. The chromed layer can be decorative, provide corrosion resistance, ease cleaning procedures, or increase surface hardness. Such screws are mainly to be used for the corrosive and other free flow material.
