Choke manifold is an essential component used in well control operations to manage and regulate pressure during oil and gas drilling. It plays a critical role in preventing blowouts by allowing controlled release of fluids when the blowout preventer is closed. By adjusting the choke valve, operators can maintain a slight overbalance of bottom hole pressure over formation pressure, preventing further influx of formation fluids into the well.
