The largest domestic air compressor turbine test success
The largest domestic air compressor turbine has been successfully commissioned in the "oil-to-coal" project at Anqing Fertilizer. All technical specifications met the design requirements, marking a significant breakthrough in the development of large-scale, continuous, and high-efficiency localized air compressors. This achievement represents a solid step forward for China's industrial technology and ends a long period where the large air separation equipment market was dominated by foreign companies, forcing reliance on imports. It demonstrates that China's air separation equipment manufacturing industry has now reached international advanced standards.
The air separation plant at Anqing Fertilizer's "oil-to-coal" project is currently the largest domestically produced facility of its kind. Its key equipment, the air compressor, is also the largest designed and manufactured in China. The turbine has a rated power of 47,860 kW, and the axial length of the unit reaches 23 meters. The project features a large flow rate, numerous mechanical components, extensive control points, complex interconnections, and frequent changes, making it a highly challenging engineering endeavor. The successful completion of this project not only showcases China’s growing technical capabilities but also sets a new benchmark for domestic air separation technology.
