Wheeling firefighters were assisted by multiple departments after a fire broke out at the Olde Court Inn Motel located on 374 N. Milwaukee Avenue on Sunday night, August 22, 2021. Upon arrival, the first responding units reported visible smoke coming from several rooms in the building. The incident prompted a coordinated response from nearby fire departments to contain the blaze and ensure the safety of residents and staff.
A partial list of responding departments included units from Prospect Heights, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Niles, North Maine, Deerfield-Bannockburn, and Northbrook. Firefighters worked quickly to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent buildings. No injuries were reported at this time, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
