An explosion occurred at 640 Industrial Drive in Cary on Wednesday afternoon, causing significant damage to a paint manufacturing warehouse. According to the Chicago Tribune, three workers were injured when multiple blasts rocked the facility around 1:15 p.m. The Cary Police Department and fire crews were quickly dispatched to the scene, where they encountered heavy smoke and a second explosion shortly after arriving.
Police Chief Steven Casstevens reported that the force of the explosions blew off the front of the two-story brick building and created a hole in the rear.
