MTI announced that its successful pilot project has demonstrated blockchain technology can enhance the efficiency and safety of the logistics industry. Recently, MIT and Agility Scientific Inc. released a white paper detailing deployment of their container flow systems in a supply chain environment. The head of shipping technology at BLOC Lab, a scientist at Copenhagen University, has validated the results of this pilot project. The company reports that the project connects suppliers, shippers, load points, customs and terminals on a shared block ledger, with far-reaching implications for the logistics industry. Because the system allows complete interoperability of data sources, including legacy systems, all parties in the supply chain will benefit from automated data flow. Jody Cleworth, CEO of Ocean Shipping International, said in a prepared statement: "The results of this pilot project demonstrate the benefits of blockchain technology in the supply chain and we believe that companies throughout the logistics industry will move from district Blockchain technology.A cluster-supported supply chain is highly resilient to cyberattacks and a copy of each important transport data is stored on every node on the decentralized network, meaning that even if one node is affected Threat, data is safe. " Karim Jabbar, Department of Computer Science, Copenhagen, says: "This project shows the tremendous potential of distributed ledger technology for improving supply chain processes and eliminates the need to completely replace existing systems when using container flow systems. Instead, MTI's solution allows Complete interoperability with existing legacy infrastructure that will allow the logistics industry to achieve better visibility and cost savings. " Deanna MacDonald, chief executive of BLOC, said in a statement: "We have seen the technology impact on the shipping industry and the future potential of this platform depends on the collaboration of different players."
