Here's an update from Eric Haak:

The Chicago Fire Department responded to a still and box alarm this morning around 10:15 AM on January 12th. The 19th Battalion was the first to arrive, and the photos were taken approximately 40 minutes into the incident. Firefighters worked through steady snowfall, initially focusing on interior operations before transitioning to a defensive position. Truck 20 was originally positioned in front of the building but was repositioned to allow Tower Ladder 39 to access the remaining fire in the cockloft.

As the fire continued to smolder in the upper levels, crews made strategic adjustments to ensure safe and effective suppression. The weather conditions added to the challenge, with snow falling steadily throughout the operation. Multiple units, including engine companies, ladder trucks, and the Squad 5A Snorkel, were seen working together to bring the fire under control. This is one of the more complex incidents we've seen so far this winter, and the response has been commendable.
